As the fishing season begins to wind down, the fleet is determined to make the most of their remaining days on the water. In this episode, titled "Good Fishing," the crews of the Northwestern, the Maverick, and the Time Bandit are all eager to catch as much crab as they can before it's too late.
Captain Sig Hansen of the Northwestern is on a hot streak, having just landed a huge haul of crab. But as the crew prepares to pull in their next pots, disaster strikes. One of the hydraulic lines on the boat's crane suddenly bursts, spraying oil all over the deck and leaving the crew scrambling to fix the problem before it's too late.
Meanwhile, the crew of the Maverick is struggling to keep up with the Northwestern's impressive catch. Captain Blake Painter decides to head to a different fishing ground in the hopes of finding better luck. But when they arrive, they discover that another boat has beat them to it, leaving the crew scrambling to find a new spot to drop their pots.
Over on the Time Bandit, Captain Johnathan Hillstrand is focused on beating his longtime rival, Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie, in the crab count. The two captains have a friendly but intense rivalry, and Johnathan is determined to come out on top. As the crew pulls in their pots, they discover that they've hit a jackpot, and Johnathan can't help but revel in the victory.
As the days pass, the crews face new challenges on each boat. On the Northwestern, the crew must deal with a malfunctioning winch that's slowing them down, while on the Maverick, a pot slips from the crane and crashes onto the deck, causing damage and putting the crew's safety at risk. But despite these setbacks, the captains and crews of each boat continue to push themselves to their limits, fueled by the promise of a big payday at the end of the season.
As the episode comes to a close, the crab count reveals who has come out on top. But the true winner is the camaraderie and resilience of the hardworking fishermen who risk their lives to bring in the deadliest catch.
