Ep 4. Enigma

Johnny Smith wrestles with his unusual abilities in Season 1, Episode 4 of "Dead Zone" titled "Enigma." As he struggles to come to terms with his newfound power, he is called in to help track down a missing girl. His psychic visions lead him on a perilous journey through the dark and dangerous alleys of his town.

The episode opens with Johnny struggling to sleep, plagued by visions of people in peril. When he awakes, he receives a call from Sheriff Bannerman who informs him that a little girl has gone missing from her school. Johnny agrees to use his powers to help find her and sets out on a mission to track down the child.

As he gets closer to finding the kidnapper, Johnny's powers become more prominent, making it more difficult for him to control his visions. He experiences vivid and violent flashes of the kidnapper's crimes, which take a heavy toll on his mind and his body.

Throughout the episode, Johnny is plagued by doubts about his abilities and his purpose in life. He feels isolated and alone, unable to share his experiences with anyone else. He begins to question whether he is truly doing the right thing, or whether he is becoming too obsessed with his powers.

As the episode nears its conclusion, Johnny's visions lead him to a remote cabin in the woods where he discovers the missing girl. She is alive but traumatized, and Johnny is finally able to put an end to the kidnapper's reign of terror.
