In the second episode of Dead Set, tensions continue to rise as the reality TV contestants realize the severity of the zombie outbreak. The episode opens with Kelly, a producer for the show, attempting to escape the Big Brother house after discovering that it has been completely sealed off by the infected. Meanwhile, the remaining contestants - including Pippa, Space, Marky, and Joplin - are struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation.
As the group begins to fortify their living quarters and search for supplies, tensions flare between the housemates. Joplin, who has been hoarding food and resources, refuses to share with the others. This leads to a confrontation with Space, who sees the need for teamwork in order to survive. Marky tries to broker peace between the two, but the argument ultimately ends with Joplin storming out of the room in a rage.
As the day wears on, the group is forced to confront new challenges. They discover that the zombies are attracted to noise, and must find a way to muffle their movements in order to avoid detection. Pippa, who has shown herself to be a capable survivor, takes charge of the situation and creates a plan to gather supplies from another part of the house.
The plan quickly goes awry, however, when the group is attacked by a group of zombies. They manage to fend off the creatures, but not before one of them is bitten. The group is forced to make the difficult decision to kill their friend before she turns into a zombie herself.
The episode ends with the group reeling from this loss. They are forced to confront their own mortality and the harsh reality of the world they now find themselves in. As they prepare for the night ahead, the survivors must come to terms with the fact that they may not make it through the next day.
Overall, the second episode of Dead Set is a tense and engaging continuation of the series. It continues to explore themes of survival and human nature in the face of adversity, while also introducing new challenges for the characters. The performances from the cast are strong, with Jaime Winstone and Riz Ahmed standing out in particular. This is a must-watch for fans of horror and survival-themed dramas.
