Dead End Express is a gripping reality TV series that aired on National Geographic in 2015, starring three Alaskan survivalists: Dead End Express, Chris Fries and Brice Barnes. The show is set in the frozen wilderness of Alaska and chronicles the lives of the three protagonists as they run their own remotely located businesses while navigating the perilous terrain and dealing with the unpredictable climatic conditions.

The central theme of the show is the thrill of being able to live and work in one of the most inhospitable terrains in the world, and how the characters adapt to this lifestyle. Each episode follows the survivalists as they face challenges like rescuing stranded travelers, dealing with bears, hauling construction material across frozen rivers with a sled, and even dealing with blizzards that suddenly put them in danger.

Dead End Express, a native of Alaska, runs his own air carrier service that ferries passengers, supplies and groceries to remote gold mining camps and homesteads. His love of flying and his knowledge of the terrain make him an indispensable asset in the region. As he describes it, his job is to play Santa Claus, ensuring that the people in the remote areas continue to have the necessary supplies and amenities to survive.

Chris Fries, the ex-Marine sniper and founder of Bushwhacks Alaska, manages his own hunting and security business in the state. He takes on tough jobs that most others would shy away from, including repelling down from a helicopter onto a remote cliff to retrieve a downed aircraft. Fries’ knowledge of weapons and his ability to stay calm in a crisis also make him an asset to the team.

Brice Barnes, the owner and operator of Frontier Industrial Supply, has his hands full running a trucking business that hauls goods to and from the remote towns in Alaska. Despite the challenges of his job, Barnes enjoys the freedom of owning his own business and the satisfaction of being able to provide for his family. His unique knowledge of the area and his expertise in all-terrain vehicles make him an important player in the region.

The show's focus on the survivalists’ businesses and their day-to-day life in the wilderness make for a compelling viewing experience. Viewers get a raw and unfiltered view of what it means to live in one of the harshest environments in the world. They see the incredible scenery of Alaska, the tough and determined people who call it home, and the challenges they face head-on to survive and thrive in the frozen wilderness.

Throughout the show, the three survivalists work together to solve problems and make sure their businesses run smoothly. They tackle challenges like hauling a ton of supplies across a frozen river, fixing a leaking airplane engine, rescuing stranded travelers, and fighting off bears that invade their campsites. The tension and drama of each episode keep viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen next.

Dead End Express is a show that will appeal to anyone with an interest in Alaska, the outdoors, or survivalism. It's a glimpse into the lives of people who have devoted themselves to living in and working with one of the harshest environments on the planet. The show is a testament to the spirit of resilience and the never-say-die attitude that characterizes Alaskans.
