In Dawson's Creek season 5 episode 14, titled "Guerilla Filmmaking (1)," the gang bands together to create a guerrilla film, complete with the all the makings of a teenage drama: love triangles, secret crushes, and tension among the group.
But before the gang can get to filming, they need a script. Joey and Dawson take on the task of writing the script together, but it soon becomes clear they have very different ideas of what the film should be about. Dawson wants to make a classic romantic movie, while Joey is looking for something more gritty and realistic. After a few creative differences, they eventually come to an agreement and the script is complete.
Now, it's time to start filming. Dawson takes on the role of director, and the gang begins shooting scenes around town. They have no budget and no permits, so they must get creative in order to film in public places without getting caught by the authorities.
As filming progresses, tensions begin to rise among the group. Pacey is frustrated with Dawson's leadership style, and Jen is feeling the pressure of being the lead actress. And when Jack shows up to help out on set, it becomes clear that he and Joey still have unresolved feelings for one another.
Despite the challenges they face, the gang manages to complete the film shoot. It's clear that the experience has brought them all closer together, but the question remains: will their guerrilla film be a success?
