Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer, navigates the streets of New York City with his heightened senses and incredible fighting skills. In the series premiere, titled "The Human Bird," Murdock takes on his first case as a vigilante superhero, when a circus performer known as "The Human Bird" is framed for the murder of his brother.
Murdock, aided by his best friend and business partner Foggy Nelson, investigates the case and soon discovers that the true culprit is a corrupt businessman who wanted the circus shut down for his own financial gain.
Meanwhile, Murdock also takes on a new client, Karen Page, who was wrongfully accused of a crime she did not commit. As he struggles to balance his duties as a lawyer and a vigilante, Murdock must also confront his own personal demons and inner demons that threaten to consume him.
