Ep 1. Maia's Longest Day (Part 1)

Daphne In The Brilliant Blue is a sci-fi anime television series that follows the adventure of a group of young women known as "Nereids" who work as bounty hunters in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the Earth is submerged in water. In season 1 episode 1, titled "Maia's Longest Day (Part 1)", viewers are introduced to Maia Mizuki, a young girl who just graduated from Luna Marine Academy and is eager to start her new life as a Nereid. However, things don't go as planned as she discovers that being a Nereid is not as glamorous as she thought.

The episode opens with a beautiful underwater scene, where we see a group of girls swimming and exploring the ocean floor. Among them is Maia, who is quickly revealed to be the protagonist of the series. The girls are on a mission to retrieve an object from the sea, but they soon realize that they are not alone. A group of pirates shows up and attacks them, revealing that they too are after the object.

In the chaos that ensues, Maia is separated from her teammates and is left stranded on a deserted island. It is here where we get to see her character develop as she tries to survive on her own and find her way back to civilization. The episode does a great job of building up the tension as we see Maia struggle to survive on the island, facing all sorts of challenges such as finding food and water and avoiding dangerous animals.

As the episode progresses, we also get introduced to the other members of the Nereids team, namely Rena, Shizuka, Gloria, and Yu, who are all unique in their own way. Rena is the tough leader of the group who takes charge and makes tough decisions, while Shizuka is the brains of the team and is always coming up with clever solutions to problems. Gloria is the tough and athletic member of the team, and Yu is the young and energetic member who always tries her best.

As the episode nears its end, Maia is rescued by a group of fishermen and is reunited with her teammates. However, the object they were after turns out to be a fake, and they are left with nothing to show for their efforts. It is here where we see Maia's determination and resolve as she vows to continue working as a Nereid despite the setbacks.

Overall, season 1 episode 1 of Daphne In The Brilliant Blue is a great introduction to the series, setting up the plot and characters well while also providing an exciting and action-packed adventure. The episode does a great job of balancing the drama and humor, making it a great watch for both fans of the sci-fi genre and anime in general.
