John Drake poses as an arms salesman when he goes to the Caribbean to inquire into reports that the leader of the opposition in a country there is planning to overthrow the democratic government and needs the aid of a gun-runner. A report from 14.1.0,6 Central American station on the activities of a Doctor Krishna Sawari (ZIA IVIORYEDDIN) sends John Drake (PATRICK McGOOHAN) to the Caribbean not only to discover what is going on but to investigate the disappearance of a fellow agent named Davis who has reported that Sawari has completed an arms deal with a suspected gun-runner. Davis's disappearance reinforces the suspicion that Dr. Sawari is planning to take over the government by force, His close friend and fellow party member, Colonel Maturin (JEROME WILLIS), a heavy drinker, has already given several indiscreet interviews to the press, stating that a complete change of the political structure is necessary for the country to prosper and take its proper place among the central American confederation.
