In the 17th episode of Danger Man AKA Secret Agent season 1, titled "Find and Return," we see John Drake embroiled in a thrilling mission to track down and retrieve an important piece of stolen equipment before it falls into the wrong hands.
The episode opens with Drake being summoned to meet with his boss, M, who informs him that a piece of equipment vital to the future of rocketry has been stolen. The equipment, a fuel pump, was stolen from a research facility in Switzerland and is believed to have been sold on the black market. M needs the pump returned as soon as possible in order to prevent a hostile country from gaining access to the technology before the UK.
Drake sets out on his mission immediately, heading to Zurich to begin tracking down the stolen fuel pump. Using his quick wit and sharp instincts, Drake manages to infiltrate the seedy underworld of black market dealings, where he quickly discovers that a notorious thief named Hans Faber is the man responsible for stealing the pump. Faber is notorious for being difficult to track down, but Drake is determined to nab him and retrieve the stolen fuel pump.
Drake decides to follow a lead that takes him to the French Riviera, where Faber is rumored to be hiding out. Using some clever detective work, Drake manages to track Faber down to a high-end resort where he is staying under an assumed name. But when Drake confronts Faber, he quickly realizes that this will be no easy task. Faber is armed, dangerous, and more than willing to do whatever it takes to protect himself and the stolen fuel pump.
Drake must use all his training and cunning to outsmart Faber and retrieve the stolen fuel pump. He manages to trick Faber into leading him to the pump, which is hidden in a secret location in the hotel. But just as Drake is about to retrieve the pump, he is caught by some of Faber's men who are on to his plan.
Drake is taken prisoner and brought before Faber, who threatens him with torture and death if he does not reveal who sent him and what he knows about the stolen fuel pump. Thinking quickly, Drake manages to turn Faber's own men against him, convincing them that Faber is too dangerous and unpredictable to be trusted. In a tense standoff, Drake manages to subdue Faber and retrieve the stolen fuel pump.
But the danger is not over yet. Drake must now escape with the pump and get it back to the UK before it falls into the wrong hands. He manages to outwit Faber's men once again, and with the help of his contacts in the French intelligence community, he is able to get the pump back to the UK just in the nick of time.
In the end, Drake is hailed as a hero for his daring mission to find and return the stolen fuel pump. But he knows that there will always be more dangerous missions to come, and that he must always be ready to fight for his country and its people.
