In episode 6 of the 12th season of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, titled "Media Training," the cheerleaders will be trained in public speaking and presenting themselves in front of the camera. The episode will start with them meeting with Jeff Brady, a New York-based media coach, who will teach the ladies how to communicate with the audience and present their ideas with charisma and confidence.
The cheerleaders will be expected to perform interviews, stand-ups and answer questions spontaneously, and Jeff Brady is ready to give them all the tips on how to do that flawlessly. The training will cover several topics such as how to establish eye contact with viewers, project their voice correctly, learn non-verbal communication skills, and even how to deal with impromptu situations.
Once the media training by Jeff is complete, there will be a mock press conference where the cheerleaders will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned with live reporters. They will also receive valuable feedback from judges, including Kelli and Judy, on their performance.
But first, the DCC choreographer will join the cheerleaders to teach them a new and vigorous routine to be performed at the pre-season game. The dance is a difficult one, which challenges each dancer's physical and mental abilities. Kelli and Judy watch the rehearsals closely, and their expectations are high. They urge the ladies to perform the routine with energy, grace, and precision.
After the final run-through, the cheerleaders will check their looks in the mirror before heading to the dressing room. Kelli then provides the ladies with information about their next audition phase, which will be called the "rehearsal scrimmage." Here, they will perform before a live audience and a panel of judges who will decide which candidates will advance.
Finally, it's time for the press conference. The cheerleaders feel nervous as they take their seats at the table, microphones lined up in front of them. They are asked a series of questions, some of which make the girls feel a little uneasy. They take turns responding as they try to keep their answers clear, concise and compelling. Jeff watches from behind the scenes and gives his input and feedback on their ability to communicate effectively.
The episode ends with the rehearsing scrimmage preparations and the cheerleaders' last-minute concerns about their performance. The judges' expectations are high, and there are only a few open slots left on the team. The ladies need to step up and perform perfectly to progress through this stage of the contest.
As the episode finishes, viewers are left feeling a mixture of nerves and anticipation for the next stage of the competition and wondering about the outcome of the audition.
