Follow That Boat: In this episode of Curious George (US) season 5, titled Follow That Boat, George and Hundley are out for a walk when they notice a boat stuck in shallow water. The harbor is blocked by a bridge, so the boat cannot move forward or backward. The captain asks George to help him push the boat out of the shallow water. However, the wind and current make it hard for them to keep the boat steady.
Meanwhile, the Man with the Yellow Hat is having trouble finding his way to the harbor. He is taking a group of children on a boat ride, but he keeps taking the wrong turns and ending up in dead-ends. George decides to help him by making a sign to show the way to the harbor.
Back at the harbor, after several attempts, George and the captain manage to free the boat. The captain is so grateful that he invites George and Hundley to join him on the boat ride. George happily accepts, but Hundley is afraid of water and doesn’t want to go. However, after seeing all the excitement, Hundley decides to join his friend on the boat ride.
Windmill Monkey: The second part of the episode titled Windmill Monkey sees George and the Man with the Yellow Hat on a field trip with their local science museum. They are visiting an old windmill to learn how it was used to grind grain into flour. While at the windmill, George spots a monkey who seems to be stuck in the gears at the top of the windmill. George quickly alerts the Man with the Yellow Hat, who realizes that the monkey is not stuck, but rather is using the gears of the windmill as a makeshift exercise machine.
The monkey, whose name is Marco, is not just any monkey; he is a highly intelligent monkey who has been trained to use the windmill gears to stay in shape. Marco is the star performer of a traveling monkey show, and his trainers have brought him to the windmill to give him some exercise.
But when Marco’s trainer suddenly falls ill, George offers to help. Using his creative problem-solving skills, George comes up with a clever way to help Marco exercise without the windmill.
In the end, Marco’s trainers are so impressed by George’s ingenuity that they offer him a job as Marco’s assistant. But George knows his true calling is to be a curious monkey, and declines the offer, happy to be back to his usual mischievous self.
