In the first part of the episode, Trader George, George and the Man with the Yellow Hat head over to the farmer's market to sell some muffins. However, when they get there, they realize that they have forgotten their table and tablecloth. George decides to improvise, and sets up shop on top of a nearby crate. As they start to sell their muffins, George begins to trade items with the other vendors at the market. He trades a muffin for a flower, a flower for a carrot, and so on. Eventually, he trades all of their muffins for a wooden birdhouse. As they are leaving the market, George realizes that they don't have anything to eat for lunch. He comes up with an idea to trade the birdhouse for food, and they successfully trade it for sandwiches, chips, and a drink. The Man and George sit down to enjoy their lunch, only to realize that they have forgotten to trade for napkins. George decides to trade the food for napkins, but when they leave, they realize that they have traded all of their belongings.
In the second part of the episode, One in a Million Chameleon, George visits his friend's classroom for show-and-tell. As his friend is showing off his chameleon, it suddenly disappears. George offers to help find the chameleon, and they start to look around the room. They find the chameleon on top of a bookshelf, but when they try to grab it, it changes color and disappears again. George comes up with an idea to put out different colored objects to see which color the chameleon will turn into. After putting out a green apple, red block, and yellow pencil, they finally figure out that the chameleon turns purple when it's on a purple background. They are able to catch the chameleon, and George's friend is happy to have it back.
Overall, Trader George / One in a Million Chameleon is a fun, lighthearted episode that teaches kids about problem-solving, creativity, and the value of trade.
