- December 10, 2020
George is back with another exciting adventure in the second episode of Curious George season 13 titled "A Good Yarn; Snow Monkey." In this episode, George learns about the fascinating world of knitting and crocheting while exploring the world around him with his curious mind.
The episode is divided into two parts, with the first part titled "A Good Yarn." In this part, George gets curious about the yarn that everyone is using to knit scarves, hats, and other winterwear. He sets out on a mission to find out how the yarn is made, and where it comes from. Along the way, he meets Mrs. Needleman, a kind old lady who owns a yarn store. Mrs. Needleman teaches George all about knitting and crocheting, and how to make beautiful things out of yarn.
George is amazed by the many different colors and textures of yarn that he sees in the store. He is drawn towards a skein of multicolored yarn and decides to make a scarf out of it. With Mrs. Needleman's help, he learns how to cast on, knit, and purl. He also learns how to do a garter stitch and how to bind off. Despite many mishaps and setbacks, George perseveres and finally completes his scarf. It's not perfect, but he's proud of what he's made, and he can't wait to show it off to everyone.
The second part of the episode is titled "Snow Monkey." In this part, George and his monkey friend, Compass, go on a trek through the snowy mountains. They are on a mission to find a rare snow monkey that lives high up in the mountains. Along the way, they encounter all kinds of wildlife - from snowshoe hares to mountain goats to bald eagles. They also have to brave treacherous terrain, including steep cliffs and icy rivers.
Despite the challenges, George and Compass press on. They finally reach the top of the mountain, where they find the snow monkey. The monkey is unlike any other monkey that George has seen - it has thick fur that keeps it warm in the cold, and it's adapted to life in the snow. George is fascinated by the snow monkey and spends hours watching it play in the snow.
As the sun sets, George and Compass set up camp on the mountaintop. They build a fire and make hot cocoa, and George wraps himself in the scarf that he made earlier. He's happy and content, surrounded by nature and in the company of his friend. He falls asleep under the stars with a smile on his face, dreaming of all the adventures that lay ahead.
