Larry David is back in action and he’s up to his usual antics in season 7 episode 6 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, titled The Bare Midriff.
The episode begins with Larry overhearing a woman in the bathroom complain about her boyfriend’s habit of only wearing a “uniform” of tan pants and a navy blue shirt. Larry quickly becomes obsessed with this idea and decides to adopt his own uniform of sorts: a black T-shirt and khaki pants. Unfortunately for him, the people in his life aren’t too keen on this new look.
Meanwhile, Larry has been tasked with hiring an actress to portray Adolf Hitler’s mother in a new play that he is producing. He ends up hiring a woman named Cheryl (played by Sarah Silverman), but their working relationship quickly takes a nosedive when Larry takes issue with Cheryl’s bare midriff. This sets off a chain reaction of events that spirals out of control.
To make matters worse, Larry finds himself in a bit of a dilemma with his girlfriend Loretta (played by Vivica A. Fox) when she catches him masturbating to a photo of her. Larry tries to explain that it’s actually a compliment, but Loretta isn’t having it.
As always, Curb Your Enthusiasm is packed full of awkward social situations and cringe-worthy moments. But despite all of the chaos, Larry manages to find a way to come out on top in the end.
Overall, The Bare Midriff is another solid episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s hilarious, uncomfortable, and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. Fans of the show will definitely want to check this one out.
