In the ninth episode of season five of Curb Your Enthusiasm, titled "The Korean Bookie", Larry is approached by a bookie named Gershon who claims that Larry owes him money from a bet he placed on a basketball game. Larry disputes this claim and tries to negotiate with Gershon to no avail.

Meanwhile, Jeff's friend Marty Funkhauser introduces him to a Korean bookie who takes bets over the phone. Jeff quickly becomes addicted to gambling and places a large bet on a basketball game, which he loses.

Larry comes up with a plan to get Jeff's money back by having Marty pretend to commit suicide and then threatening the bookie with legal action. However, things do not go according to plan and Larry and Jeff find themselves in a dangerous situation.

In the midst of all this, Larry's assistant Antoinette becomes obsessed with a Korean beauty treatment and urges Larry to try it out. Larry reluctantly agrees and finds himself in a hilarious and awkward situation.

As always, the episode is filled with plenty of cringe-inducing moments and hilarious misunderstandings, making it a must-watch for fans of the series.
