The episode opens with Larry and his friends preparing to hit the slopes at a ski resort. Larry is excited to hit the trails, but his friend Jeff is preoccupied with finding a new ski instructor. He is determined to find the best instructor for his son, whose previous instructor was killed in a skiing accident.
As they make their way up the ski lift, Larry's day takes a turn for the worse when he gets stuck on the chairlift with a woman who he mistakenly thinks is his friend's wife. The woman is actually a stranger, and Larry's attempts at small talk are met with confusion and annoyance.
Once they finally make it to the top of the mountain, Larry becomes the subject of ridicule when he accidentally drops his ski pole and causes a chain reaction of falling skiers. Despite his embarrassment, Larry tries to make the best of the situation and continues skiing with his friends.
Meanwhile, Jeff is still on the hunt for the perfect ski instructor, and his search leads him to a former Olympic skier named Heidi who he believes is the perfect fit. However, his plans are derailed when he sees Heidi flirting with another man and becomes jealous.
As the day goes on, Larry finds himself in a series of uncomfortable situations, including an encounter with his ex-wife and her new husband on the ski lift. He also has a run-in with a group of rowdy snowboarders who refuse to follow the ski resort's rules.
Despite the chaos and awkwardness of the day, Larry manages to make it down the mountain in one piece and back to the hotel, where he and his friends celebrate their successful ski trip.
