In Curb Your Enthusiasm season 4 episode 2, titled "Ben's Birthday Party," Larry and Cheryl attend the birthday party of their friend Ben. As soon as they arrive, Larry is already causing trouble with Ben's young daughter Sammy, who he accidentally knocks over while hugging.
Throughout the party, Larry continues to find himself in awkward situations, such as accidentally destroying a poster of Ben's brother's band and causing a commotion when he tries to leave early. He also has a run-in with restaurant owner Mocha Joe, who accuses Larry of stealing his preferred table at a restaurant earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, Cheryl tries to smooth things over with Ben's wife, who is upset because she feels like Larry and Cheryl never invite them to their parties. Cheryl promises to invite them to their upcoming anniversary party, but forgets to actually do it until it's too late.
As the party comes to a close, Larry is once again in the spotlight when he accidentally reveals the surprise ending of Ben's favorite movie to him. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated, Larry tries to make it up to Ben the next day by buying him a new TV, but ultimately ends up causing even more drama.
"Ben's Birthday Party" is a classic example of the show's signature cringe-worthy humor and Larry's ability to constantly find himself in uncomfortable situations. Fans of the show will delight in watching Larry navigate the colorful cast of characters at the birthday party, all while keeping their fingers crossed that he doesn't cause too much chaos.
