Dave Eckert takes viewers on a culinary tour of Las Vegas in the season 10 premiere of his show, Culinary Travels. Titled "Las Vegas-On and Off the Strip," the episode explores the city's vibrant food scene both inside and outside of the famous casino resorts.
Eckert begins his tour at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, where he samples the delicious Mediterranean-inspired cuisine at Chef José Andrés' restaurant, Jaleo. From there, he heads off the strip to visit The Chef's Table at the small but mighty Esther's Kitchen. Chef James Trees whips up classic Italian dishes that are both simple and mouth-watering.
Next, Eckert heads to the Arts District to visit another off-the-strip gem, Makers & Finders. This café serves up Latin-inspired coffee and comfort food with flair. Eckert raves about the avocado toast with poached egg and pulled pork empanadas.
Back on the strip, Eckert hits up the famous Bellagio Hotel and Casino to showcase two of its top restaurants. First up is Lago by Julian Serrano, which features small plates from Italian cuisine. Next, he samples the premium steaks of Prime Steakhouse, where every dish is cooked to perfection.
Eckert also makes a stop at The Venetian Resort to try out Chica, Chef Lorena Garcia's take on Latin American cuisine. He enjoys the vibrant flavors of the dishes, and gives a special thumbs up to the Peruvian roasted chicken.
As an added bonus, Eckert takes viewers to Experience Las Vegas, a food tour where participants can try a little bit of everything in downtown Vegas. From tacos to pizza to doughnuts, this tour covers all the bases.
Overall, "Las Vegas-On and Off the Strip" showcases the diverse culinary offerings of Las Vegas. Whether visitors want to stick to the glitz and glamour of the strip or venture off to lesser-known spots, there's something for everyone in Sin City.
