In the CSI: Miami season 2 episode titled "Money for Nothing," the team focuses on a case involving a wealthy businessman who is found dead in his home. The initial evidence appears to suggest that the man, who had a number of enemies due to his cutthroat business practices, was killed during a robbery gone wrong.
As the CSIs begin to dig deeper into the case, however, they quickly realize that things are not quite as they seem. For starters, it quickly becomes evident that the victim's expensive watch and valuable artwork were not taken during the supposed robbery, which immediately casts doubt on that theory.
Further complicating matters is the fact that the victim's ex-wife, who was embroiled in a bitter custody battle with him over their young son, had been seen in the area around the time of his death. While the woman insists that she was simply dropping off their child for a visit with his father, the CSIs are not convinced.
As the investigation continues, the team uncovers a number of other troubling details about the victim's past. For one thing, it turns out that he had been using his company's funds to make secret investments, which may have put him in the crosshairs of some very dangerous people.
With this information in hand, the CSIs begin to piece together what really happened the night of the victim's death. As it turns out, the motive for the murder was not theft, but rather revenge. But the real shock comes when the identity of the killer is finally revealed, leaving the team stunned and shaken.
Overall, "Money for Nothing" is a tense and gripping episode that will keep viewers guessing until the very end. With its intricate plot, compelling characters, and expertly crafted suspense, this installment of CSI: Miami is sure to satisfy fans of crime dramas everywhere.
