In CSI: Crime Scene Investigation season 7 episode 4 titled Fannysmackin', the team is faced with a disturbing case involving a new trend among teenagers in which they assault unsuspecting individuals and upload videos of the act on the internet. This particular case involves three students who are seen on the video clip assaulting a man while their classmates cheer them on.
The victim, a construction worker, was beaten to the point of unconsciousness and left with severe injuries. The team, led by Gil Grissom, immediately sets to work analyzing the video footage, hoping to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
As the investigation progresses, the team discovers that the three boys involved in the assault are not as cold-hearted as they initially appear. They come from troubled homes and have been neglected by their parents, forcing them to turn to extreme measures for attention.
Meanwhile, Catherine Willows and Nick Stokes are called to investigate a separate case involving a young girl who was kidnapped from her home and taken to an abandoned building. With little evidence to go on, they must rely on the victim's memory and a few small clues to piece together what happened and track down the kidnapper.
As both cases move forward, the team must overcome a number of hurdles, including uncooperative witnesses, jurisdictional challenges, and conflicting evidence. But with their expertise in forensic science and dogged determination, they are ultimately able to crack both cases and put the perpetrators behind bars.
