The CSI team investigates a series of brutal attacks on couples who have parked in secluded "lover's lanes" throughout the city. The first couple was found by a passing driver who saw a figure standing over the car wielding a tire iron. The perpetrator has left behind no evidence, making the case difficult to solve. The team sifts through the victim's histories, looking for any connection between them that could lead to a suspect. The only commonality is that all the couples were young and in love.
Meanwhile, Langston focuses on a case that has haunted him for years. A teenage girl was murdered over a decade ago, and her killer was never caught. Langston was the lead investigator on the case and has never forgiven himself for not being able to solve it. He has recently received a tip that leads him to believe that the killer may still be out there. He enlists the help of Sara to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.
Back on the lover's lanes case, the team discovers that one of the victims had a stalker. They locate the stalker and bring him in for questioning, only to find out that he is not the killer. However, the stalker provides valuable information that leads the team to a suspect. They search his home and find evidence linking him to the crimes. The suspect is brought in for questioning, and the evidence against him is overwhelming. However, he maintains his innocence and refuses to confess.
The team must use all their skills to break the suspect, including psychological manipulation and good old-fashioned detective work. Finally, they are able to get the suspect to confess to the crimes. The motive for the attacks was jealousy; the suspect was angry at the happy couples he saw in the lover's lanes and wanted to destroy their happiness. He will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Langston and Sara are able to solve the cold case that has plagued Langston for years. They track down the killer, who has been living under an assumed name in another state. The killer confesses to the crime and is brought back to Las Vegas to stand trial. Langston is finally able to find some closure and put the case that has haunted him to rest.
In the end, the team reflects on the cases they have solved and the lives they have touched. They know that their work is important and that they have made a difference in the world. They may not always be able to solve every case, but they will always do their best to bring justice to the victims and their families.
