Crying Fist is a 2005 South Korean drama film produced by CJ Entertainment, directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, and starring Choi Min-sik, Seung-beom Ryu, and Jeong-ah Bae. The movie tells the story of two men from vastly different backgrounds who both turn to boxing as a way to escape their problems and achieve their dreams.

The first protagonist is Kang Tae-shik (Choi Min-sik), a former silver medalist in boxing who now lives on the streets and resorts to petty theft to survive. Tae-shik is a broken man who lost everything he had - his career, his family, and his dignity. He is haunted by the memories of his past and the mistakes he made that led to his downfall. However, his skill as a boxer is still undeniable, and he is given a chance to get back on his feet when he is offered a spot in an amateur boxing tournament.

The second protagonist is Yoo Sang-hwan (Seung-beom Ryu), a young man from a poor family who lives with his mother and his younger sister. Sang-hwan is a troublemaker who gets into fights and has a bad reputation in his neighborhood. He is always on the lookout for a quick way to make money, and when he sees an advertisement for a boxing gym that promises big rewards for those who succeed, he decides to give it a try. Despite his lack of experience, Sang-hwan has a natural talent for boxing and catches the eye of his trainer.

As the two men train and prepare for their upcoming fights, they form an unlikely bond that transcends their differences. Tae-shik becomes a mentor and a father figure to Sang-hwan, teaching him the ropes of the sport and encouraging him to stay on the right path. Sang-hwan, in turn, gives Tae-shik a reason to fight again and shows him that there is still hope for redemption.

Crying Fist is a movie that explores themes of loss, regret, and redemption through the lens of boxing. It showcases the physical and mental challenges that boxers face both inside and outside the ring, as well as the social and economic pressures that drive people to pursue the sport. The movie also delves into the relationships between the characters, particularly the bond between Tae-shik and Sang-hwan.

Aside from the main characters, the movie also features a strong supporting cast that adds to the richness of the story. Jeong-ah Bae plays the role of Sun-ju, Tae-shik's estranged daughter who is trying to make amends with her father. Sun-ju's storyline adds a layer of emotional depth to the movie and shows the impact that Tae-shik's past mistakes have had on his family.

Overall, Crying Fist is a well-crafted movie that combines gritty realism with heartfelt emotion. It is a story that resonates with audiences because it speaks to universal themes of struggle and perseverance. The acting is superb, particularly from the lead actors Choi Min-sik and Seung-beom Ryu, who bring a raw intensity to their performances. The movie also features impressive boxing sequences that are both thrilling and realistic. Ultimately, Crying Fist is a must-see movie for anyone who appreciates a good drama or a good boxing movie.
