In season 5, episode 7 of Crossing Jordan, titled "Road Kill," the Boston Medical Examiner's office is tasked with investigating a string of seemingly unrelated deaths that all occurred within a few miles of each other on a rural stretch of highway. As the team delves deeper into the mystery, they begin to unravel a web of deceit and betrayal that connects each victim to a single suspect.
Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh (Jill Hennessy) takes the lead on the case, determined to solve the puzzle before more lives are lost. She is joined by her colleagues, including Dr. Woody Hoyt (Jerry O'Connell), who is dealing with a personal crisis of his own, and Dr. Nigel Townsend (Steve Valentine), who may hold the key to cracking the case.
The investigation takes the team down a dangerous path, as they uncover evidence of a possible serial killer on the loose. With each new victim, the stakes get higher and the pressure mounts for the MEs to solve the case.
Complicating matters is the arrival of a new medical examiner, Dr. Macy's (Miguel Ferrer) replacement, who rubs some team members the wrong way with his cocky attitude and lack of respect for protocol. But despite the clashes, everyone is united in their goal of finding the killer before he strikes again.
As the team races against the clock, they must confront their own demons and overcome personal obstacles in order to bring a killer to justice. With twists and turns at every corner, "Road Kill" is a thrilling episode that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
