Jordan and Dr. Macy are out on the field after a car accident that led to a fatality. While investigating the scene, the two detectives come across a man who seems to be in distress. Upon approaching him, they realize he is mute and they take him to the coroner's office to help identify him. Elsewhere, Bug and Lily are working on a case where a man has died due to an allergic reaction. Upon examining the corpse, they discover something in the man's throat that doesn't seem right. Meanwhile, Nigel and Woody are called to investigate a suicide and upon investigating the scene realize that there might be more to the death than meets the eye.

Back at the coroner's office, Jordan and Dr. Macy are trying to figure out who the mute man is when they come across something strange in his medical records. It leads them to unearth a shocking secret that could turn the case on its head. Meanwhile, Bug and Lily follow the trail of evidence, still trying to figure out what caused the man's death. As they get closer to the truth, they realize that this case is much bigger than they ever thought it could be.

Elsewhere, Woody and Nigel are still investigating the suicide and realize that they are missing a crucial piece of evidence. When they finally discover it, they realize that the man didn't commit suicide but was actually murdered. As they get closer to the truth, they realize that the man's death is connected to something much bigger and more dangerous than they ever imagined.

As the detectives work through each case, they begin to realize that everything is connected in ways they could never have anticipated. As they pull all the threads together, they unravel a web of lies and deceit that not only threatens the investigations but also puts their own lives in danger.

In the end, the detectives must work together to solve the cases and bring the culprits to justice. Along the way, they must confront their own demons and personal issues as they try to do what's right. Through it all, they come to see that the most important thing is standing up for what you believe in, even in the face of danger and adversity. In the end, Crossing Jordan shows that justice always prevails, no matter the cost.
