Jordan Cavanaugh (Jill Hennessy) is back for another episode of Crossing Jordan season 1, with episode 4 titled "Born to Run." The medical drama follows the life of Jordan, a Boston medical examiner who often sets her sights on investigating cases beyond her job description.
In this episode, Jordan is presented with a case of a young woman who was found dead on the side of the road. With no identification to be found, Jordan and her team begin their investigation with nothing to go on other than a distinctive tattoo on the victim's arm. The team are unable to find any leads, until a man claiming to be the victim's brother arrives to claim her body, but leaves behind a series of questions that Jordan can't ignore.
As Jordan delves into the case deeper, she begins to realize that the young woman had been walking across the country, an idea that seems almost foreign to the team. However as they get to know the woman's story from her diary, they begin to uncover clues that suggest her death was anything but accidental.
Along the way, Jordan must balance her own personal demons, as she struggles with the senseless death of her own mother, with her determination to bring the young woman's killer to justice. Her colleagues also face their own personal struggles, including Nigel's (Steve Valentine) anxiety about his upcoming exam and a medical scare for Macy (Miguel Ferrer).
Full of action, drama, and suspense, "Born to Run" is a gripping episode that showcases the best of Crossing Jordan's solid writing, talented cast and crew, and commitment to telling powerful stories that keep viewers on the edge of their seats. With its intricate plot twists and well-developed characters, this episode stands out as one of the most memorable of the series, and one that fans will not want to miss.
