The episode "Psychodrama" starts with the BAU team being called to investigate the deaths of three women who all seem to have been killed by the same person. The women all have similar physical characteristics and were strangled with a ligature. It is clear to the team that a serial killer is on the loose.
As the team starts to work on the case, they find out that the killer has been staging his murders to look like famous movie scenes. He has recreated scenes from classic thrillers like "Psycho" and "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" at the crime scenes. It becomes evident that the killer is a very theatrical person who is using his murders to create his own twisted psychodrama.
As the team continues to investigate the case, they discover that the killer has a very specific type of victim. He goes after actresses who have been in productions of the plays he is basing his murders on. The team discovers that there is another actress who fits the killer's profile and they are desperate to save her from being his next victim.
The team is led to a theater where they believe the killer is hiding out. While searching the theater, they discover a room filled with props and stage equipment that the killer has been using to stage his murders. The team realizes that the killer has been rehearsing his murders like a play and that he is planning something big for his next victim.
As they get closer to finding the killer, they discover that he has taken his next victim and is holding her captive in a theater room. The team realizes that the killer has set up a final act in his psychodrama and they must stop him before it's too late.
The final act is a tense and dramatic confrontation between the killer and the BAU team. The killer, who is clearly a very disturbed individual, puts on a show for the team, acting out scenes from his favorite movies while holding his victim hostage. The team must use all of their skills to outsmart the killer and save his victim before it's too late.
In the end, the team is able to save the victim and bring the killer to justice. The episode ends with the team reflecting on the twisted psychology of the killer and the deep-seated need for attention and recognition that drove him to commit such gruesome crimes.
