Rebecca Bunch is a successful lawyer in New York City, but after a series of personal and professional setbacks, she quits her job and moves to West Covina, California to pursue her high school ex-boyfriend, Josh Chan. In season 3, Rebecca tries to be a better person after being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and spiraling out of control.

In episode 10, titled "Oh Nathaniel, It's On!", Rebecca sets her sights on Nathaniel, the handsome and wealthy lawyer she works with. After a series of misunderstandings and mishaps, Rebecca and Nathaniel finally share a kiss, but she quickly realizes that he's not the romantic hero she's been looking for. Meanwhile, Darryl and White Josh plan a party to celebrate their adoption of a child, but face unexpected challenges when one of the birth parents changes their mind.

The episode opens with Rebecca and Nathaniel dueling in song over whether or not they should pursue a romantic relationship. Rebecca is convinced that Nathaniel is the man of her dreams, while Nathaniel is hesitant to get involved with a co-worker. After the song, they agree to "keep it professional" but are immediately drawn back to each other when their boss assigns them to work on a case together.

As they work long hours together, Rebecca and Nathaniel begin to see each other in a new light. Nathaniel reveals that he's lonely and has trouble connecting with people, while Rebecca realizes that she's been projecting her romantic fantasies onto him without really knowing who he is. They share a kiss, but Nathaniel pulls back and says that he can't be the person she wants him to be. Rebecca is crushed, but tries to play it cool and act like she wasn't that interested in him anyway.

Meanwhile, Darryl and White Josh are preparing for their adoption party when they get a call from the birth mother. She has changed her mind and wants to keep the baby, leaving Darryl and White Josh heartbroken. They try to salvage the party by inviting their friends, but things take a turn for the worse when they accidentally set their kitchen on fire.

Rebecca and Nathaniel have an awkward encounter at the party, but manage to clear the air and agree to be friends. Rebecca admits that she's been using him as a distraction from her own problems, while Nathaniel says that he needs to work on himself before he can be in a relationship. They share a sweet moment before getting interrupted by Paula, who pulls Rebecca aside to talk about her own issues.

The episode ends with Rebecca singing a poignant ballad about how she's still searching for the person who will make her feel complete. She realizes that she needs to focus on herself and her own journey, rather than trying to find fulfillment in someone else. As she sings, we see the other characters grappling with their own challenges, from Darryl and White Josh's failed adoption to Heather's quarter-life crisis. Despite the ups and downs, they're all moving forward and trying to find their place in the world.

Overall, "Oh Nathaniel, It's On!" is a poignant and bittersweet episode that showcases the complex and messy nature of relationships. While Rebecca and Nathaniel's romance doesn't quite work out, they both grow and learn from the experience. The episode also highlights the importance of vulnerability and self-acceptance, as each character confronts their own fears and insecurities.
