Ep 1. Candy Coutoure

Craftopia is back with an incredibly sweet treat-filled episode named Candy Coutoure! Season 2 of the show brings back the host and kids’ favorite, Lauren Riihimaki, to guide 9 young crafters through a series of challenges to determine the ultimate craft champion. The kids must make it through 3 rounds of crafting with the help of well-known judges and mentors.

In the first round, the contestants must create a fashionable accessory using candy as the main material. The kids have the option to choose from an array of candy including licorice, taffy, rock candy, and many more to craft unique accessories that scream Coutoure. The contestants come up with breathtaking ideas – from bejeweled candy bracelets to candy necklaces that look straight out of a high fashion magazine.

In the second round, the children get to test their designers' prowess by creating a candy-themed room. They can select from various candy colors, textures, and shapes to craft outstanding décor that transcends functional home accessories. The judges bring in their vast knowledge of room decoration, forcing the contestants to improvise at the last minute to turn their candy-spun rooms into functional art pieces.

Finally, in the third round, the young crafters must take their candy creations to a higher level and deck out an entire look for their judging ceremony. In the run-up to the final show, the young crafters must bring all of the skills they’ve learned from the previous challenges to make the most fashionable outfit.

The judges are not alone; they are joined by Gina Rodriguez, known for her work in the film and television industry, to judge and guide the contestants on a more personal level. The contestants are judged based on the creativity of their designs, attention to detail, and aesthetic. The young crafters find this round more challenging than the previous ones, as they have to stay true to the theme of the challenge while also crafting a candy-based article that incorporates functionality, durability, and aesthetic.

As the competition narrows down to one winner, all of the contestants bring their 'A' game and do their utmost to show off their skills. Throughout the episode, the children show impressive skills, with some of them creating outstanding craft items that leave judges floored. The judges encourage them throughout the challenges, giving their expert advice and tips so the children could come up with creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but functional and highly fashionable as well.
