After the events of the CIA fiasco, Annie Walker has been assigned to desk duty. However, when she receives a letter from Danielle, someone from her past who she never thought she’d hear from again, she’s thrown back into the world of espionage once more.
Danielle’s letter tells Annie that she’s in trouble and needs her help. Annie knows that she shouldn’t get involved, especially since she’s not officially on a mission, but she can’t resist the call to action. She travels to Amsterdam to meet with Danielle, and soon discovers that she’s gotten herself tangled up with some dangerous people.
Danielle has stolen a valuable item from some Albanian gangsters, and they’re determined to get it back. Annie is able to help her evade capture for a little while, but soon they’re ambushed and forced to fight for their lives. In the heat of the moment, Annie learns that Danielle has been working for a powerful man named Henry Wilcox, someone with a murky relationship with the CIA.
Despite this revelation, Annie decides to keep helping Danielle. She’s determined to get to the bottom of things, even if it means going against agency protocol. With the help of Auggie, who’s been keeping tabs on her from back home, she begins to unravel the mystery surrounding Henry Wilcox.
As she digs deeper, she learns that Wilcox has his sights set on a dangerous terrorist plot, one that could put millions of lives at risk. Annie and Auggie quickly come up with a plan to stop him, but they’ll need help from some unexpected sources if they want to succeed.
With time running out, Annie and Danielle race against the clock to stop Wilcox. They track him down to a secret location deep in the woods, where they’re met with heavy resistance. Despite the odds, they’re able to take down his security detail and confront him directly.
In a tense standoff, Annie and Wilcox trade barbs as they try to outmaneuver each other. Annie eventually gets the upper hand, but instead of taking Wilcox in, she cuts a deal with him. She convinces him to call off the terrorist plot in exchange for his freedom.
With the mission accomplished, Annie returns to the CIA headquarters and is reinstated back into active duty. However, she can’t shake the feeling that something isn’t right with Henry Wilcox. She makes a promise to herself to keep an eye on him, knowing that he could be a dangerous wildcard in their line of work.
