Ep 5. Go Viral

Go Viral is the fifth episode of Season 1 of the animated show Counterfeit Cat. The episode starts with Max, a young boy, taking pictures of himself with his cat, Gark, dressed in different outfits. Gark is an alien who has taken on the form of a cat and is trying to understand Earth culture. While taking pictures, Max reminds Gark that he cannot go viral without consent. However, Gark does not understand what viral means and wants to experience it for himself.

Meanwhile, an evil scientist named Dr. Spellingmeyer has invented a machine that turns anything it touches into a viral sensation. Her goal is to use the machine to become famous and rule the world. She creates a video of herself dancing with a broom and uploads it to the internet, and it quickly goes viral.

Gark becomes fascinated with the concept of going viral and wants to experience it for himself. He convinces Max to take a video of him doing a stunt, and they upload it to the internet. It does not receive any attention, and Gark feels disappointed.

Dr. Spellingmeyer sees the video and decides to use her machine on it. However, she accidentally touches Gark with the machine instead of the video, and he becomes a viral sensation. Gark loves the attention and decides to do more stunts to keep the viral sensation going.

Max is concerned about Gark's safety and reminds him that he cannot keep doing dangerous stunts. Gark, however, ignores him and continues to do outrageous stunts to keep the attention on him. Max becomes worried when Gark decides to jump over a pool of piranhas, and he tries to stop him. However, Gark's desire for attention is too strong, and he jumps anyway.

Dr. Spellingmeyer sees the stunt and wants to capture Gark to use his viral energy for her own gain. She sends her minions to capture him, and Max and Gark must work together to escape. They manage to evade the minions and make it back home safely.

Max reminds Gark that he doesn't have to keep doing dangerous stunts to be popular and that he will always be his friend, no matter what. Gark realizes that Max is right and decides to stop doing dangerous stunts. Dr. Spellingmeyer sees that Gark is no longer a viral sensation and decides to move on to the next thing.

In the end, Max and Gark learn a valuable lesson about the dangers of seeking attention and the importance of true friendship. The episode ends with Gark content with being Max's faithful companion, and Max happy to have his friend safe by his side.
