Ep 4. Heart of Garkness

In season 1 episode 4 of Counterfeit Cat titled "Heart of Garkness," Max and Gark team up to pull of the ultimate prank on their arch-nemesis, Betty. However, things take a dark turn when Gark accidentally loses his beloved heart cupcake in Betty's room. As they search for the cupcake, they stumble upon an old diary that reveals Betty's past and the reason behind her villainous behavior. Along the way, Max and Gark realize that they may have misjudged Betty and their prank could have unintended consequences.

The episode starts with Max and Gark planning their revenge on Betty after she humiliated them in front of the entire school. They plan to sneak into her room and swap out her shampoo for hair dye but things take a turn when Gark loses his heart cupcake in Betty's room. Betty walks in and Gark hides under her bed while Max distracts her. While under the bed, Gark finds an old diary that belonged to Betty's grandfather, who used to be a famous adventurer. Betty catches Max and he quickly escapes but Gark decides to stay behind and read the diary.

As Gark reads the diary, he finds out that Betty's grandfather was his hero and that he had traveled to unimaginable places in search of adventure. However, his adventures came to a halt when he stumbled upon an ancient artifact that had the power to grant immortality. The artifact was buried deep in a temple in the Amazon jungle and Betty's grandfather set out to find it. However, he was never seen again and the artifact was rumored to be cursed.

Gark is fascinated by the story and decides to follow in Betty's grandfather's footsteps. He convinces Max to come along and they set out to find the artifact. They travel to the Amazon jungle and navigate through treacherous terrain. Along the way, they encounter dangerous animals and traps set up to keep intruders out.

As they get closer to the temple, they realize that they are not alone. Betty has followed them and she is determined to get the artifact for herself. Max and Gark try to stop her but she refuses to listen and enters the temple. As they make their way through the temple, they uncover secret rooms and solve puzzles to get to the artifact. They finally reach the heart of the temple and find the artifact.

However, their celebration is cut short when they realize that the artifact is indeed cursed. As they try to escape, they are chased by the temple guardians and have to use all their skills to make it out alive. When they finally reach safety, they realize that Betty has been hit by the curse and is now immortal. She thanks Max and Gark for helping her find the artifact and reveals that she was not always villainous. She was trying to find a way to reverse the curse and live a normal life again. Max and Gark feel guilty for misjudging her and promise to help her find a cure.

In the end, Max and Gark return home and make amends with Betty. They apologize for their behavior and promise to be better friends. The episode ends with Betty using her immortality for good and helping people all over the world. Max and Gark continue to have adventures together but now they know that they can't judge someone just based on their appearance or behavior.
