In this episode of Cops, the cameras follow the Pierce County police force as they deal with various cases in the county's urban and rural areas. The officers respond to a call about an assault in progress and discover that the alleged attacker has barricaded himself inside a home. Negotiators are called in to try and talk the man out of the house, but tensions remain high as the situation drags on for hours.

Next, the camera crew follows two officers as they respond to a domestic violence call in a rural part of the county. They arrive on the scene to find a woman with visible injuries and a man who is angry and uncooperative. The officers work to separate the couple and deescalate the situation, while also questioning neighbors to gather more information.

In another segment, the camera crew rides along with a traffic officer as he patrols the highways and back roads of Pierce County. The officer pulls over a driver who is driving erratically and discovers that he is under the influence of drugs. He also tickets several drivers for speeding and not wearing seatbelts.

The episode also features a segment with a K-9 unit as they track down a suspect who fled on foot after a routine traffic stop. The dog tracks the suspect through a wooded area and helps the officers apprehend him.

Finally, the cameras follow a group of officers as they conduct a drug bust at a known drug house. The officers announce their presence and quickly secure the location, finding drugs and drug paraphernalia on the premises. They arrest several suspects and bring them in for questioning.

Throughout the episode, viewers get an inside look at what it's like to be a police officer in a county that encompasses both urban and rural areas. From handling domestic violence calls to tracking down suspects in the forest, the officers of Pierce County face a wide range of challenges in their day-to-day work.
