Ep 33. Legendary Cooking Utensils! Secret of the Always-sharp Blade!
- March 15, 1998
In Cooking Master Boy season 1 episode 33, titled "Legendary Cooking Utensils! Secret of the Always-sharp Blade!", viewers are introduced to a cooking competition that takes place in a small town on the outskirts of China. The competition is unique because it involves the use of legendary cooking utensils that have been passed down through generations.
These cooking utensils, which include knives and pots, are said to possess magical properties that enhance the flavours of the food being cooked. The winner of the competition is not only determined by the taste of their dish but also by the condition of their utensils.
The episode opens with the arrival of the contestants to the competition venue, and we are introduced to Liu Maoxing, our protagonist. Liu is a young chef who has been the reigning champion of the competition for two years and is determined to win for the third time.
Liu is one of the few chefs who possesses a legendary knife, which has been passed down through his family for generations. This knife is said to have an always-sharp blade, and Liu's skill with it is unparalleled.
As the competition gets underway, we see the other chefs struggling with their utensils, as they are not used to the magical properties of the legendary knives and pots. Some dishes come out overcooked, while others lack flavour.
However, Liu is in top form as he expertly uses his knife to slice and dice ingredients with ease, while his pot enhances the flavours of his dish. He is confident that he will win the competition for the third time.
But things take a turn when another contestant reveals a secret about Liu's knife. It turns out that the always-sharp blade is not magical at all. Instead, it's made of a special type of metal that can only be found in a distant land.
The revelation that Liu's knife is not magical shakes him to his core, and he begins to doubt his ability as a chef. He feels that he has been cheating all these years by using a knife that was not legendary.
Liu's doubts are compounded when he faces off against a young chef who has been using a regular knife that he sharpened to perfection himself. The chef's dish wins the approval of the judges, and Liu is left wondering if his skills as a chef are enough to win without his legendary knife.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Liu decides to return to his village in search of the special metal that his knife is made of. Will he be able to find it in time for the competition? Will he be able to win without his legendary knife? Viewers will have to tune in to the next episode to find out.
