Kiera and Carlos are still reeling from the events of the last episode, but they have to put their personal feelings aside when a terrorist group known as the Second Wave threatens to launch a major attack on Vancouver. The group appears to have access to some seriously advanced technology, and they seem to be one step ahead of the police at every turn.
Kiera, still struggling with the revelations about her own future, is determined to stop the Second Wave and prevent the terrible future she knows is coming. She and Carlos work tirelessly to track down the group and thwart their plans, but the more they learn, the more they realize just how dangerous this situation truly is.
Meanwhile, Alec is still reeling from Emily's death and struggling to come to terms with what happened. He finds solace in his work, throwing himself into a new project that involves recording the memories of people who are about to die. But as he delves deeper into this new technology, he begins to realize that there may be unintended consequences to what he's creating.
As Kiera and Carlos close in on the Second Wave, they find themselves facing an unexpected obstacle: the group's leader is someone Kiera knows well. This revelation throws everything into chaos and makes Kiera question everything she thought she knew about the future and her place in it.
With time running out and the fate of the city hanging in the balance, Kiera and Carlos must race against the clock to stop the Second Wave before it's too late. But as they dig deeper into the group's motivations, they realize that the situation may be more complex than they ever could have imagined.
As the tension mounts and the stakes get higher, Kiera must make some tough choices about who to trust and how far she's willing to go to protect the future. With her own past and future hanging in the balance, she must stay one step ahead of the Second Wave if she hopes to prevent a catastrophic attack and save the lives of everyone she loves.
