Ep 9. Family Time

Kiera and Carlos search for a group of brilliant scientists who have disappeared. They believe the group's disappearance is related to their research on high-tech coatings which they believe could have military applications. The research is being funded by the CEO of a powerful corporation, but Kiera and Carlos discover that the real driving force behind the corporation is Elena's mother-in-law, who is determined to use the technology for her own purposes.

Meanwhile, Kiera is struggling to balance her duties as a protector of the past with her desire to have a relationship with her son. When Alec's father reveals that he can send Kiera back to her own time, Kiera must decide whether to stay in the present or return to her own time. As Kiera wrestles with this decision, she learns that her husband and son are in danger, which puts her in a difficult position as she works to protect them while also carrying out her mission to save the future.
