In the fifth season premiere of "Community," titled "Repilot," the show picks up with the study group having graduated from Greendale Community College. Jeff Winger, once the leader of the group, is now working as a lawyer but finds himself in a career rut. After realizing that his life hasn't turned out the way he hoped, Jeff decides to try and get the study group back together, with the hope that they can help him figure out what to do next.

The episode begins with a brief flashback to the study group's graduation from Greendale, where Pierce (who has since passed away) gives a speech that is interrupted by Jeff, who insists that they can't leave Greendale yet. It then cuts to the present day, where Jeff wakes up in his apartment, hungover and disillusioned with his life. He's been fired from his job and his relationship with his girlfriend has fallen apart. Jeff calls the other members of the study group, but they're all too busy to meet with him.

It's not until Jeff runs into Annie at a coffee shop that he starts to see a glimmer of hope. Annie relates to Jeff's struggles and tells him that she has an idea for how they can get the band back together. Annie works for a tech company called "MeowMeowBeenz," which has developed a new social media platform that rates people on a scale of one to five based on their behavior. Annie suggests that they use this platform to track down the other members of the study group and get them to meet up.

They find Abed at a movie theater, where he's working as a projectionist. Abed is skeptical of the idea at first but eventually agrees to join in. Next, they track down Shirley, who is busy running a sandwich shop with her husband. Shirley is hesitant to come back to Greendale since she's had some bad experiences there in the past, but Jeff convinces her to give it another chance. They also find Britta, who is working as a bartender and struggling to make ends meet. Like the others, Britta is hesitant to come back to Greendale, but Jeff convinces her to join in.

Finally, they track down Pierce's half-brother, Gilbert, who is in possession of a large amount of money that Pierce left him. Gilbert is hesitant to give up the money, but after some convincing from Jeff, he agrees to donate it to a fund to restore Greendale's reputation, which has been tarnished in the wake of the "darkest timeline" events from last season.

The study group meets back up at Greendale, where they find that the school has undergone a major transformation. The Dean has transformed the school into a virtual reality paradise but has also run up a huge amount of debt in the process. The group decides to help the Dean get the school back on track, with the hope of turning it around and making it the kind of place they always dreamed it could be.

"Repilot" is a strong start to the fifth season of "Community," bringing the study group back together in a fun and inventive way. Each member of the group has their own storyline and it's great to see them all back on screen together. The inclusion of Gilbert as Pierce's half-brother is a nice touch, and the way the episode deals with Pierce's absence is both respectful and emotionally resonant. Overall, "Repilot" is a promising start to what looks to be another great season of "Community."
