Come in Spinner is a television series set in the bustling city of Sydney, Australia just after the end of World War II. The show follows the lives of three women, each with their own struggles and secrets, working at the prestigious Hotel South Pacific. The first woman is Sheila Delaney (Lisa Harrow), a widowed mother who is desperately trying to provide for her son while also coping with her lingering grief over her husband's death. Sheila works as a maid at the hotel and tries to stay out of trouble, but her desire for a better life often leads her into dangerous situations.

The second woman is Claire Hanrahan (Kerry Armstrong), a no-nonsense journalist who is determined to expose the corruption and scandal rampant in post-war Sydney. Claire also has a personal vendetta against the hotel's owner, the unscrupulous Arnott family, and will stop at nothing to bring them down.

The third and final woman is Charmian Clift (Rebecca Gibney), a talented writer who has recently returned from living in Europe with her bohemian husband. Charmian is struggling with the expectations of her traditional husband, as well as her own desire to break free and pursue her passions. She finds solace in the vibrant cultural scene of Sydney, but also attracts unwanted attention from the hotel's male guests.

Throughout the series, these three women navigate the tumultuous post-war world of Australia, fighting for their own survival and trying to make a better life for themselves. They encounter a variety of colorful characters, both good and bad, including corrupt businessmen, corruptible politicians, and even corruptible police officers.

The show offers an unflinching look at the darker side of Sydney's post-war society, with a focus on issues like prostitution, police brutality, and political corruption. It also explores the role of women in this time period, particularly in the workforce, and the pressure they faced to conform to societal expectations.

Come in Spinner is a powerful drama that is both gripping and emotionally resonant. The exceptional performances from the cast, particularly Harrow, Armstrong and Gibney, bring their characters to life in a way that is both nuanced and authentic. The series is a testament to the strength and resilience of women in the face of adversity, and is a must-watch for anyone interested in Australian history and culture.
