Columbo soon realizes that Neil has a twin brother, who also has an alibi for that night.
Columbo then focuses his investigation on the relationship between the Galloway brothers and Dexter Paris. He discovers that Paris was having an affair with Neil's wife and was in the process of creating a new vineyard with her. Additionally, Paul Galloway is in debt and would profit from the death of Paris. These revelations lead Columbo to believe that the brothers conspired to kill Paris together.
Columbo sets up a trap for the brothers, which leads to a dramatic conclusion. The episode ends with Columbo successfully solving another murder case.
