Ep 10. Copper Dollar Ranch (Jasper, IA)

In Cold Justice season 2 episode 10, the team travels to Jasper, Iowa to investigate the murder of 63-year-old Vernon Messelhiser. Messelhiser's body was found in a pond on his property at Copper Dollar Ranch, and police initially ruled his death as accidental. However, evidence later emerged that suggested foul play was involved.

The Cold Justice team, led by former prosecutor Kelly Siegler and former crime scene investigator Yolanda McClary, begin their investigation by speaking with Vernon's family and friends. They learn that Vernon was a well-liked man who had no enemies, and that he had recently sold some cattle, leading to speculation that someone may have been after the money.

The team also interviews locals who may have seen something on the night of Vernon's death. One witness reports seeing a truck leaving Copper Dollar Ranch at around 1am, and the team sets out to identify the owner of the truck.

As the investigation progresses, tensions rise between some members of Vernon's family, who have differing opinions on who may be responsible for his death. The team must navigate these tensions as they work to solve the case.
