A young boxer named Dante Jones was killed in a hit and run accident almost a decade ago. The lead detective on the case, Detective Rush, is approached by Dante's brother, Aaron, who believes that there were some people at the boxing gym his brother visited who might have something to do with the accident. As the investigation begins, it becomes clear that Dante had a temper and a gambling problem - a dangerous combination in the boxing world.
Rush and her team begin to piece together the night of the accident, interviewing witnesses and suspects who were at the gym that evening. They discover that one of the suspects, Adrian, was a friend of Dante's and had borrowed money from him. Adrian admits to being at the gym the night of the accident, but claims he had nothing to do with it. However, Rush and her team uncover evidence that suggests Adrian was actually driving the car that hit Dante.
As the investigation heats up, tensions rise between the detectives and Adrian's defense attorney. Rush becomes increasingly frustrated with the legal system, as Adrian's lawyer uses every trick in the book to prevent him from being charged. Meanwhile, the victim's brother Aaron is struggling to come to terms with the truth about his brother's death and the people involved in it.
As the case draws to a close, Rush is forced to make some tough decisions about justice and the legal system. The episode ends on a bittersweet note, as the truth is finally revealed but the consequences of the accident continue to ripple through the lives of everyone involved.
