During her captivity, Marshall was subjected to physical and emotional abuse by Han, who had become obsessed with her and was determined to destroy her life. Han eventually released Marshall, but the trauma of her experience led her to change her identity and move to a new city.

Despite the fact that Han was eventually apprehended and charged with multiple counts of kidnapping and assault, the case remains a mystery in many ways. What drove Han to assume Marshall's identity and commit such heinous crimes against her? How did she manage to convince Marshall's loved ones that she was really her long-lost twin sister? These are questions that may never be fully answered.
