Ten years after Theresa Allore was found murdered and a year after the case was reopened by investigators, another female college student went missing in the same area with striking similarities to Theresa's case. Police found the body of Louise Camirand two days after she disappeared, and though forensic evidence was collected at the time, it was insufficient to identify a suspect.

In "The Deadly Stroll/Unholy Secret," Cold Case Files Classic season 6 episode 7, viewers are taken through the details of both murders and how authorities seek to finally bring closure to these brutal crimes.

Theresa Allore, a 19-year-old student at Champlain College in Quebec, Canada, disappeared on November 3, 1978. While her roommates believed she had gone home for the weekend, her parents had not seen her. It wasn't until April of 1979 that a fisherman found her body in a small body of water near her college, over five months after her disappearance.

Police at the time struggled to piece together what had happened. Because of the decomposition of her body, it was difficult to discern cause of death. Suspects were questioned and released and eventually the case went cold.

In 2002, Theresa's brother, John Allore, made a documentary about his sister's case. It renewed focus on the unsolved murder and led to the case being reopened by Quebec's Surete du Quebec. In 2005, Theresa's body was exhumed and the case became a topic of public interest.

During the investigations, the police uncovered evidence that Theresa may have been with someone the night before she disappeared. A witness came forward to say they saw Theresa get into a car with a man outside of her dormitory. With renewed focus on the case, investigators uncovered information that led them to believe that Theresa may have been one of several women targeted by a serial killer.

In 1977, a woman named Manon Dube was killed in the same area. A year after Theresa's death, another young woman named Louise Camirand went missing and was found murdered. All three women were college students in the area and had been alone when they disappeared. All had been sexually assaulted before their murders. Authorities began to suspect that the murders of these women were connected.

"The Deadly Stroll/Unholy Secret" explores the renewed investigation of Louise Camirand's murder. In 2002, the case was reopened and DNA evidence was collected from the clothing she was wearing when she was found. The case had been cold for years, and the forensic evidence that was collected at the time of her murder was insufficient to solve the case. DNA testing had come a long way since then and authorities were hopeful that a match could be found.

This episode also delves into the story of Allores' brother, John, and his journey to uncover the truth about his sister's murder. John has spent much of his life advocating for the case to be opened and for the police to follow through on every lead. He has partnered with police to petition for DNA testing to be done on evidence collected in the early days of the investigation.

"The Deadly Stroll/Unholy Secret" is a chilling look at the brutal murders of two young women and the ongoing investigation into their deaths. The episode raises tough questions about the ability of law enforcement to solve crimes and the importance of advocates in keeping authorities accountable. The case of Theresa Allore and Louise Camirand has shed light on the need for forensic science to keep up with developments and the importance of keeping high-profile cases in the public eye.
