Ep 23. A Deadly Pattern / A Desperate Housewife

  • November 23, 2006

In Cold Case Files Classic season 5 episode 23, titled "A Deadly Pattern / A Desperate Housewife," viewers are taken on a journey through two separate cases of murder that are both linked by a common thread.

The first case, "A Deadly Pattern," takes place in 1984 when a young woman named Susan Doll is brutally murdered in her own apartment in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Despite an extensive investigation, no leads are found and the case goes cold for years. However, in 1991, a similar murder takes place in the same apartment complex, prompting detectives to revisit Susan's case and start looking for connections.

Through interviews with witnesses and the use of DNA evidence, detectives are able to identify a suspect who they believe is responsible for both murders. However, with little physical evidence to tie him to the crimes, the case becomes a difficult one to prove.

In "A Desperate Housewife," viewers are introduced to the case of Marlene Warren, a Florida woman who was shot and killed on her doorstep in 1990. At first, detectives believe that the crime may have been a random act of violence, but as they investigate further, it becomes clear that the killer was someone who had a personal vendetta against Marlene.

Through interviews with family members and witnesses, detectives learn that Marlene was having an affair with a man named Michael, who was married to another woman. As more evidence is uncovered, it becomes clear that Michael's wife, Sheila, was the one who pulled the trigger and killed Marlene. However, with Sheila denying any involvement in the crime, detectives must work diligently to prove her guilt.

As the two cases unfold, viewers are left to wonder if justice will finally be served, or if these cold cases will remain unsolved forever. With twists and turns around every corner, "A Deadly Pattern / A Desperate Housewife" will leave viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
