Cockroaches is a post-apocalyptic comedy television series that premiered on ITV in January 2015. The show follows the lives of Andrew (played by Daniel Lawrence Taylor), his sister Georgie (played by Esther Smith), and a group of survivors who are trying to make the best of the end of the world.

Set in the year 2041, the series is a humorous take on the aftermath of a nuclear war, which has left the world in ruins. The show begins with Andrew, a cocky and selfish young man, who has just arrived in Morocco with his girlfriend, where he plans to start a new life. However, things take a turn for the worse when a nuclear bomb explodes, causing chaos and destruction across the globe.

Andrew and Georgie soon find themselves back in England, where they discover that most of the population has been wiped out. They join forces with other survivors, including Terry (played by Tom Davis), a loud and crude man who becomes Andrew's nemesis, and Joanne (played by Susannah Fielding), a beautiful but neurotic woman who provides a potential love interest for Andrew.

The group sets up camp in an abandoned shopping mall, where they try to maintain some semblance of normality amidst the rubble and destruction. They try to scavenge for food, water and supplies, while they also deal with the harsh realities of the new world order.

Throughout the series, the characters face a number of challenges and dangers, including rogue gangs of survivors, radioactive zones, and the threat of disease. While they try to keep a positive attitude, they also struggle with their own personal demons, as they try to come to terms with their new reality.

The show has been praised for its sharp writing, which balances the darker elements of the post-apocalyptic world with moments of comedy and levity. The chemistry between the cast is also highly praised, with Lawrence Taylor, Smith and Davis all delivering standout performances.

Overall, Cockroaches is an entertaining and often hilarious take on the post-apocalyptic genre. It is a must-watch for fans of comedy and sci-fi alike.
