In “Something Special,” Emily Elizabeth plans a surprise for Clifford on his birthday. She doesn’t know what to get him, but she remembers that Clifford’s favorite thing to do is have fun with his friends. With that in mind, Emily Elizabeth decides to create a special birthday party for Clifford that will also be a fun celebration for all of his friends. She makes homemade dog treats and decorates the dog pen with balloons and streamers. Clifford is thrilled with the party, and he loves his present: a special new collar that Emily Elizabeth has made just for him.
In “Shun Gets in the Game,” Shun is feeling left out of all the fun that Clifford and his other friends are having. He has never been interested in playing games because he thinks he won’t be good at them. But one day, Emily Elizabeth invites him to join in a game of “Fetch the Ball,” and Shun reluctantly agrees. To his surprise, he finds that he enjoys the game, and he’s actually quite good at it! Shun realizes that he was missing out on a lot of fun because he was too scared to try something new. Now, he can’t wait to join in on more games and activities with his friends.
Overall, this episode is all about celebrating friendship, trying new things, and learning to have fun with others. Emily Elizabeth, Clifford, and the gang show that life is more enjoyable when you share it with good friends who support you and encourage you to take risks and explore new experiences. Whether it’s planning a special surprise party or learning to play a new game, these characters remind us that life is full of surprises and new adventures, and that we should embrace them with open hearts and minds.
