The TARDIS lands on the planet Necros, a world dedicated to funerary services and the final resting place for many of the galaxies' elite. There, the Doctor and his companion, Peri, find themselves embroiled in a battle of science and morality, as they uncover the dark secret behind the planet's famous cryogenic chambers.
Meanwhile, the Daleks have also taken an interest in Necros, using the planet's resources to create a new form of Dalek, one that can sustain itself longer without the need for power. But the Daleks' plans are not the only threat the Doctor and Peri must face. A twisted scientist named Davros, the creator of the Daleks, has returned to Necros, with a plan of his own to take over the universe.
As the Doctor and Peri navigate Necros' labyrinthine catacombs and frozen tundras, they must use all of their wits and skill to stay alive. Along the way, they team up with a group of rebels, including a young woman named Tasambeker, who is torn between her loyalty to her employer and her own conscience.
The Doctor soon realizes that the Daleks are not the only monsters on Necros. The funeral director who runs the planet, Jobel, is running a far more insidious operation, one which involves turning the planet's dead into a nutritious food source for the living. As the Doctor delves deeper into Jobel's amoral practices, he uncovers a mystery that threatens not just Necros, but the entire universe.
As the Daleks and Davros close in, the Doctor races against time to unravel the tangled web of deceit and corruption that surrounds Necros. But even with the help of his new allies, the Doctor may not be able to stop Davros' ultimate plan, one that could destroy all of creation.
