Ep 5. The Pirate Planet: Part 1

The Pirate Planet: Part 1 is the fifth episode of the sixteenth season of the classic TV show Doctor Who. In this episode, the Doctor and his companion Romana arrive on the planet Zanak, a world that has been hidden from the rest of the universe by a powerful force field. They soon discover that Zanak has been hollowed out and is being used by a ruthless pirate named the Captain to plunder other planets and steal their riches.

The Doctor and Romana team up with a young thief named Kimus to try and stop the Captain's reign of terror. They find themselves pursued by the Captain's cyborg parrot, and the Doctor realizes that the entire planet is being controlled by a giant machine called the Mentiads. The Doctor and Romana manage to make contact with one of the Mentiads, who warns them of the danger they face.

As they explore the planet, the Doctor and Romana encounter a race of beings known as the Mourners, who are being forced to harvest the minerals that the Captain covets. The Doctor and Romana are captured by the Captain's robotic guards and taken to his ship, where they meet the Captain himself. The Captain is initially friendly, but it soon becomes clear that he will stop at nothing to take whatever he desires.

Meanwhile, Kimus is attempting to steal the Captain's treasure, but he is caught by the Captain's second-in-command, Mr. Fibuli. Kimus manages to escape with the help of a friendly stone servant, but he is pursued by the Mentiads. The Doctor and Romana realize that the Mentiads are a force for good, and they begin to work with them to defeat the Captain.

The episode ends with the Doctor and Romana infiltrating the Captain's ship, determined to stop him once and for all. But can they succeed in their mission before it's too late? Find out in The Pirate Planet: Part 2!
