Ep 18. The Power of Kroll: Part 2

On the swamp planet of Delta Magna, tensions run high as an oil drilling operation by the human company, the Sons of Earth, threatens the existence of the native Swampies. In the previous episode, the Fourth Doctor and his companions Romana and K9 arrived on Delta Magna to investigate the disappearance of a religious artifact. After discovering that the artifact was a key to the creature known as Kroll, the Doctor and Romana now find themselves caught in the middle of a deadly conflict between the Sons of Earth, the Swampies, and the giant squid-like monster known as Kroll.

As the episode opens, the Doctor and Romana are being held captive by the Swampies, who believe that the two time travelers are working with the Sons of Earth. Its monstrous tentacles lash out at anything in their path, including the Sons of Earth's drilling platform. Despite the danger, Thawn and his men press on, determined to capture Kroll at any cost. However, their arrogance and greed soon prove to be their undoing, as Kroll turns the tables on them and begins to wreak havoc on both the Sons of Earth and the Swampies.

The Doctor and Romana are caught in the crossfire, struggling to stay alive as Kroll's wrath threatens to consume them all. The Doctor recognizes that Kroll is not simply a mindless monster, but a sentient being that must be treated with respect. He and Romana use their knowledge of the creature's behavior to lure it into a trap, but even then, they are not sure if they can control it.

As the climactic battle between Kroll and the rest of Delta Magna rages on, the Doctor and Romana race against time to stop the creature from destroying everything in its path. With the help of a few brave Swampies, they are able to communicate with Kroll and appeal to its better nature. In the end, Kroll makes a decision that will change the future of the planet and its inhabitants forever.
