In the animated series Class of the Titans, season 1 episode 11 is titled "Field of Nightmares." The episode follows a group of teenagers who have been transported back in time to ancient Greece, where they discover that they are reincarnated heroes from mythological tales. These heroes have been brought together to fight against the forces of evil that threaten the world.
In "Field of Nightmares," the heroes face one of their most challenging missions yet. It all starts when Atlanta, one of the heroes, enters a running competition organized by an Olympic level coach. However, strange things start to happen during the competition. The coach turns out to be a sorcerer named Circe, and she has used her magic to imprison the other heroes in a dreamlike state on a nightmare field.
As Atlanta starts to win the competition, she also falls under Circe's spell, causing her to forget her true identity and goals. Soon the other heroes are forgotten as Atlanta focuses only on winning the competition and receiving Circe's reward. However, Neil, one of the heroes who is not under Circe's spell, becomes suspicious of the coach and decides to investigate.
As he delves further into the matter, Neil realizes that Circe has been using the heroes' competitive mindset against them. She has created an illusory field that is tailor-made for each hero, offering them a chance to live out their deepest desires, but this is all a trap. The heroes will be trapped inside the dreams forever unless they can break the spell.
Neil tries to convince Atlanta to see through the illusion and remember who she truly is. However, Circe has taken control of Atlanta's will, and she refuses to listen to Neil. In a last-ditch effort to reach Atlanta, Neil challenges her to a race, hoping that the competition will snap her out of Circe's control.
The race is long and challenging, and Atlanta is well ahead of the others. However, Neil persists, even when it seems unlikely that he can win. He charges ahead, refusing to let Circe's magic keep him from his goal. As he nears the finish line, he finds his second wind and pushes ahead with all his might. Suddenly, Atlanta remembers who she is and the true nature of the competition, and she too rises above the spell and crosses the finish line.
With Circe's hold broken, the heroes are able to free themselves from the nightmare field. However, Atlanta and Neil must face the consequences of their actions. Atlanta is embarrassed about how she acted while under Circe's control, but her teammates help her realize that it was not her fault. They were all deceived by Circe's magic, and now they must focus on the bigger picture.
The episode ends with the heroes reflecting on their experience and the difficulties that lie ahead. They are reminded that they must always stay vigilant against the forces of evil and be prepared to fight for the greater good, no matter what. The heroes return to their normal lives for now, but the threat of the Titans looms large, and they know they must be ready for their next battle.
