Tomoya's life has changed since he met Nagisa. He no longer skips school, and he is starting to find new friends. In this episode, Tomoya and Nagisa set out to find more friends for the drama club.
The two go around the school asking various students if they would like to join their club, but everyone declines. They eventually run into a girl named Ryou, who seems interested in the club. However, Ryou is hesitant to join because she doesn't think she has any talents to bring to the group.
Tomoya, Nagisa, and Ryou grab lunch together and talk about their interests. Ryou shares that one of her hobbies is fortune telling, and Tomoya jokingly asks her to tell his future. Ryou agrees, and tells Tomoya that she sees him surrounded by a lot of girls.
Tomoya is embarrassed by this, but Nagisa takes it in stride and asks Ryou to tell her fortune next. Ryou tells Nagisa that she will meet someone important soon.
Later, the trio runs into Kyou and her twin sister Ryou. Kyou is surprised to see Tomoya with Ryou and Nagisa, and she asks why they're hanging out. Tomoya explains that they're trying to find more members for the drama club, but they haven't had much luck.
Kyou suggests that they try to recruit Fuko, a girl who is always carving wooden starfish and handing them out to students. Tomoya is skeptical that someone who spends their time carving starfish would be interested in drama, but Kyou insists that Fuko is a nice person and worth getting to know.
The group sets out to find Fuko, and they eventually stumble upon her in the school courtyard. Fuko is excited to meet new people, but she has a one-track mind when it comes to her starfish carvings. She immediately hands out starfish to everyone in the group, and tells them that she's making them for her sister's wedding. Fuko explains that her sister won't be able to attend the wedding due to an illness, but Fuko wants to make sure that everyone remembers her sister on her special day.
Tomoya, Nagisa, Ryou, and Kyou are moved by Fuko's dedication to her sister, and they all agree to help her finish making the starfish. They spend the rest of the day carving and painting, and by the end of it, they have created a huge pile of starfish. Fuko is moved to tears by their kindness, and she agrees to come to the drama club meeting the next day.
The episode ends with Tomoya reflecting on the day's events and realizing that he has made some new friends. He feels grateful for the people in his life who have helped him become a better person, and he looks forward to the adventures to come.
Overall, this episode of Clannad is heartwarming and uplifting. It shows the power of friendship and how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life. The characters are all unique and interesting, and viewers will be rooting for them as they confront their challenges and grow closer together.
